As I was was sorting through my holiday recipes, I discovered a poem that I had copied out of a cooking magazine years ago. To this day, it makes me laugh out loud to read it because it calls to mind every culinary disaster of my domestic life. Enjoy!
Change is Inedible
I didn't have potatoes, so I substituted rice.
I didn't have paprika, so I used another spice.
I didn't have tomato sauce, I used tomato paste;
A whole can, not a 1/2 can-I don't believe in waste.
A friend gave me the recipe;
She said you couldn't beat it.
There must be something wrong with her-
I couldn't even eat it!
