I am a late bloomer in the area of Scripture Study. I only truly embraced my Catholic faith as an adult and everyone knows that the adult brain is is a little...um...slower when it comes to memorization and study. I'm not saying it can't be done well but I have certainly benefitted from wonderful Scriptural resources when I find myself in this not unfrequent situation:
"Honey, I've been trying to remember that one passage from church two Sundays ago...Something about fruit...I think. Or maybe fish. Okay, I think it was about fish and our Lord was definitely in a boat."
Now, in this type of situation, a textual Scriptural concordance is my best friend...Because my theologian husband does not like to give away answers and usually rewards me with a resounding "Look it up!"
So, I am incredibly excited to announce that the Catholic Bible Concordance to the RSV-CE Bible (also known as the Ignatius Bible) is finally available for pre-order! The orders will be shipping in June of this year and I cannot wait to hold one in my hands. It has been too long since a reliable and affordable Catholic Bible concordance has been available and this one is the companion to my preferred translation. Apparently, I am in excellent company...
The RSV-CE (Revised Standard Version-Catholic Edition) is also used and recommended by the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Dr. Scott Hahn and Curtis Mitch (The Ignatius Catholic Bible Study Series), Fr. Benedict Groeschel, Fr. Mitch Pacwa, Patrick Madrid, The University of Navarre in Spain (The Navarre Bible), Steve Ray, Laura Berquist, Dr. Marcellino D'Ambrosio, and many others.
Why choose the RSV-CE over other translations? See what Steve Wood (dads.org) has to say .
Copies of this Bible can be found here.
Where can you purchase The Catholic Bible Concordance? It is available at Amazon.com and also directly from the publisher at Emmaus Road.
I have had the great privilege of having the author as my closest friend for the last 15 years. He is a man of deep faith who has lead his wife and children to the heart of Christ. He is also sharp as a tack, incredibly handsome, and has impeccable taste in women (if I do say so myself)!
