Doctor visit #3...Getting Close

I'm almost 37 weeks pregnant and just had my 3rd OB appointment. I expected a lecture (I did get one at my second visit) but was spared. Instead, she told me how my situation makes an excellent case for decreasing the number of visits healthy pregnant women should have during a pregnancy. Her opinion is that a smaller number of higher quality visits (in a low risk pregnancy) are worth more than numerous short, low-communication visits. I'm sure I agree!

I haven't made any progress worth mentioning in the dilation department but I never do. I don't think I've ever gone into active labor with a number higher than 2. It's always 2 to 10cm in 45 minutes to 2 hours. Seriously intense but short.

My weight gain was a surprisingly low 2 pounds in almost 3 months. I feel gigantic so that was a bit of a shocker. I certainly gained plenty in the early months and I'm healthy so no seemed to care or give it a second thought.

She gave me forms to fill out to ease admissions and stressful interactions with nursing staff. I asked questions of concern such as: Can I have a hep lock and still labor in the water? (I tend to dehydrate and develop a fever.) Yes. We plan on refusing the newborn Hepatitis vaccine since my last infant had a serious adverse reaction; is this a problem? Nope.

Another appointment is scheduled for next week. Hopefully, I can skip it and go straight to delivery. :)
