Great Olympic Moment

Just after crossing the finish line, she began to unpin something from the inside of her jersey...

Me: What is she doing? Is she unpinning something?

Professor: Yes. Many of the athletes pin a photograph or memento inside their jersey... it's a way to dedicate a race or event to someone.

I continued to watch, thinking that I might see a picture emerge of a child or a deceased relative. We all gasped as she drew forth an image of Blessed Mother and the Christ Child and held it up and kissed it. I think that was the best moment of the Olympics so far for me.
